e-lectionary

Preaching is an interesting task…but how effective is it when it’s more a monologue than a dialogue?

Someone once commented on the great chasm between the preacher and the congregation
“You’re way up there and we’re down here.”
In an attempt to lessen the gap and contribute to the Sunday sermon we want to hear what you think about these texts! Is there an intersection between these texts and your life!
Welcome back to the virtual Forest Grove United Church Lectionary Discussion Group known as
“e-lectionary.”
The format is simple; each week I will post the readings for the upcoming Sunday with a few opening musings on the texts. These thoughts are intended to wet your appetite, ruffle your feathers; stimulate you! You then are invited to respond with your own ideas, insights, and stories with others by simply pressing “reply to all” in an email.

This conversation is meant to be a place to discuss ideas, pose questions, test, affirm, disagree and wrestle, with our faith. The hope is that the message Sunday morning will be a communal creation!  To participate please e-mail james.lepard@forestgroveuc.com
